What is "Women Who Rise"?

An introduction to our newest series...

"Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14

A vision for 2021

At the end of 2020, as I sat praying for direction for The Serpent and the Dove in the coming new year, I felt God speaking to me very clearly that this was going to be a tough year. Things are not necessarily going to get easier (which was what I know we are all hoping for after the infamous 2020). The church, in particular, is going to start really facing some hard times. Covid has ushered in a new time where government has been given more power to shut down large groups such as churches like never before. Churches are closing in record numbers and many saints, although still live-streaming church services, aren’t being fed and challenged in the same way they would in an in-person environment. The face of the very world, and especially the church world, is altering before our eyes. Now this alone can seem discouraging but at the very same time, I also felt God’s ministering presence tell me that this would also be a time and opportunity for Christians to RISE-

To rise up from our complacency and apathy.

To rise up from discouragement and insecurities that hold us back.

To rise up into the royal priesthood that we are called to be.

To rise from slumber and awaken to our calling to be watchers for His return.

To rise into our spiritual giftings, abilities and purposes for the kingdom.

With chaos comes opportunity

I truly believe that God is going to visit His church and His people with a special grace, anointing and wisdom for these times.

And He’s done it before. We see it in our key figure of the Women Who Rise series, Esther. In Esther 4:14, as Esther faces a harrowing conflict- speak up and risk death, or don’t speak up and risk the annihilation of her people, she is reminded by her uncle Mordecai

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

We will all face this choice. Will we speak up and rise up believing that this is the very time and hour God has been preparing us for? Or will we stay silent and hidden and allow for Satan’s plans to go unchecked?

There are going to be some tough times ahead for all of us, and if we read biblical prophecy, we know if only gets more accelerated as we near Christ’s return. But with chaos comes opportunity. With persecution comes grace. The Women Who Rise series will look into the lives of 6 women in a 5 part series that chose to rise above their circumstances and in doing so, changed their worlds.

And let’s remember that 2021 may be tough but God is going to enable us as He did our spiritual sisters from long ago, to RISE.
